(January 13, 2005) - Monsanto Hawaii has donated $750 to the Maui United Way, bringing its total cash and in-kind donations to Maui nonprofits to more than $136,000 over the past five years.

"Monsanto's philosophy is that it should help support the communities in which its employees live and work," said Bruce McBratney, Monsanto Hawaii's technology lead on Maui. "Through the years, Monsanto Hawaii has given grants and volunteered manpower to beautify parks, protect our natural watershed, help schools and educational programs, and support charitable and human services organizations, all here on Maui."

The Monsanto Fund is the philanthropic arm of the company. Non-profit organizations can find a brochure and application information online at www.monsantofund.org. Monsanto also offers an employee donation matching program in which the company will help match charitable donations given by its employees.
