Leadership Training for State Officers

State FFA Officers bring the FFA mission to life through their interactions with fellow members. State FFA officers are peer elected leaders chosen in each state to lead the association for a year-long term. State officers bear various responsibilities in each association. Though the responsibilities and the sizes of the officer team vary from state to state, the duties of this group can be summed up in the following:

  • Conducting state FFA association business
  • Consulting FFA chapters
  • Helping state staff set direction for state FFA programming
  • Peer training for FFA members
  • Advocacy for the state organization, agriculture and youth

State FFA officers reflect a bright and talented group of young leaders. In addition, they reflect the rich diversity FFA programs have come to know in the past 75 years. During their year of service, the National FFA organization offers them a continuum of training experiences, aiding the state officers to effectively conduct their responsibilities.

Monsanto is proud to support one step of the training offered to the over 450 elected state FFA officers annually -- the National Leadership Conferences for State Officers. These particular conferences focus on building the student leaders' skill and ability in the following three areas:

  • Communicating key messages through effective workshops
  • Conducting state-wide chapter visit programs
  • Developing behaviors exhibited by consistently high performing teams

We enjoy the opportunity to attend these conferences and interact with the future leaders of the agriculture industry.
