Biotech Advisory Council Shares Important Perspectives
Monsanto's Biotech Advisory Council was formed in 2001 to help us better understand
how our decisions were affecting people around the world. In the early days, the
council reviewed recent activities and provided feedback. As the council and Monsanto
developed a stronger working relationship, the focus shifted from the past to the
future and how best to apply our expertise and resources to meet the challenges
ahead.
Recent topics included important products in our research pipeline, which led to our commitment to share drought tolerance technology in Africa. Discussions about human rights were considered in Monsanto's human rights policy. As more countries approve biotech products, we continue to discuss evolving public expectations.
