Quick Fontanelle Facts
  • A brand serving growers in more than 10 states including Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas and portions of the surrounding states
  • Sells corn, soybeans, alfalfa and sorghum seed
  • Providing service to growers for more than 75 years

Fontanelle Hybrids offers farmers corn, soybeans, sorghum, and alfalfa. The company has been doing business with customers for more than 75 years. Throughout those years, Fontanelle™ has continued to provide farmers with great support with an unbeatable team of people in the field.

Fontanelle focuses on three main areas:

  • Fields of the Future-   An initiative that recognizes Fontanelle customers for the ways they participate in trying new traits and genetics on their farms. The customer involvement helps Fontanelle capture the experience customers have with new products and traits and allows Fontanelle to share that data with other growers. This collaborative effort helps to build a level of confidence with customers in Fontanelle’s products and in Fontanelle.
  • Aqua View- The World Economic Forum Water Initiative says by 2025, water scarcity could affect annual global crop yield to the equivalent of losing the entire grain crops of India and the U.S. behind. Fontanelle has a large footprint in the Western Corn Belt, which is an area where water, and learning ways to conserve water, is a key focus through Fontanelle’s AquaView project.  The project is  a total package of sharing knowledge through education, maximizing the value of Fontanelle’s seed and utilizing the limited water resources.  One tool to help do that is through the use of capacitance moisture probes. More than 450 capacitance moisture probes were put on various growers’ farms across Fontanelle’s footprint in 2010. The goal is to continually monitor water use and make recommendations to growers on irrigation based on the data those probes provide.
  • Fontanelle Offering Communities Understanding Support (FOCUS)- Growers give a lot back to their communities through economic contributions. Whether it’s purchasing gas at the local gas station or buying lumber at the local lumber yard, farmers have a positive economic impact on a local community and this helps a lot of local communities stay afloat. The FOCUS program is one way Fontanelle can help farmers give back. Through grants, customers of Fontanelle can give money to local organizations, such as 4-H and FFA, or other community related projects.
