Presented by the Aspen Institute and The Atlantic magazine, the Aspen Ideas Festival is a forum for influential thinkers from around the world to discuss some of the most important ideas and pressing global issues. This year, Monsanto joined other prominent organizations such as Shell, Mercedes Benz and Hewlett-Packard as a sponsor of the event.
Chairman, President and CEO, Hugh Grant, was a featured panelist on two of the event’s forums: the July 9 evening exchange panel on water, “What is a Cool Drink of Water Worth?”, and the July 10 forum “How do we Feed the World (A New Vision for Agriculture)?” In addition, Monsanto sponsored an evening event around the subject of whether social media is changing journalism, which featured well-known journalists from media such as The New York Times, Le Monde (France), and NPR.
