Our America’s Farmers campaign features real farm families doing what they do every day – growing not only our food, but also our economy and our quality of life here in America. We're all connected to agriculture and it’s time we, as a nation, learn more about the industry that provides for us every day.
Monsanto employees are 100 percent focused on agriculture – breeding seeds and developing products that help farmers produce more food, feed and fiber while conserving resources like soil and water. As a technology innovator and global leader, we are committed to: assuring the safety and quality of our products; promoting a culture of integrity through our business conduct; and supporting initiatives and organizations with similar aims. This section provides information that addresses common questions about our business and business practices.
We are proud to offer a broad choice of products and services to meet farmers’ needs. (For information about all of Monsanto’s products, please visit the “Products” section of our web site.)
Founded in 1901, the former Monsanto Company spun off its industrial chemical businesses in the late 1990s and merged its other operations with Pharmacia in 2000. Pharmacia moved the agricultural operations to a subsidiary and spun it off as a separate independent, public entity – Monsanto Company – in 2002. However, we still get questions about, and in some cases maintain responsibility for, products that were once part of the former Monsanto.
