For professionals who want to begin a career in agriculture, Monsanto offers internships in Technology, Animal Ag, Commercial, Finance, Manufacturing/Seed Operations and Purchasing. We also offer co-op assignments in IT & Supply Chain Management. Please visit with your Campus Career Placement Professional at your school to learn more about these opportunities. We use behavioral-based interviewing techniques, and all interns and co-ops must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

The Monsanto Internship/Co-op Program

This program offers college students on-the-job experience through paid temporary, full-time positions. Participants gain valuable professional experience and develop an insider's understanding of how Monsanto operates. Students typically participate in the Intern Program during their summer semester break. Interns generally work forty hours per week and assignments may vary in length from 10 to 12 weeks during the summer. Students that are interested in the Co-op Program typically make a semester commitment to the position. This is generally a forty hours per week position that may vary in length from four to six months. Co-op and intern opportunities are for students who wish to explore a career at Monsanto. Program Requirements

You must be currently enrolled as a student in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree program at an accredited university. In most cases, you must have completed at least the freshman year. Preferred candidates should have:

  1. Demonstrated leadership, communication and business acumen
  2. One of the following majors: accounting, finance, human resources, law, information systems, marketing, supply chain management, agronomy, animal science, agricultural business, plant breeding, plant physiology, genetic engineering, chemical engineering, biological sciences, botany, chemistry, or other agricultural-oriented major.
  3. Co-ops and interns could be assigned to work in one of the following functional areas: Engineering, Operations, Research & Development, Finance/Accounting, Sales, Marketing, Animal Ag, Manufacturing/Seed Operations, Purchasing, and Technology.

Selection

Selection is based on student credentials, behavioral-based interview results and the matching of student's skills to available openings.

Program details

  1. Dates - The Intern Program typically begins in May and continues through August. The Co-op Program typically begins in January and June.
  2. Locations - We have opportunities located throughout North America. Our headquarters are located in St. Louis, MO.
