Seed Dealer Instructions

  • Growers intending to plant YieldGard Plus® with Roundup Ready® Corn 2, YieldGard VT®, or YieldGard VT® with Rounup Ready® Corn 2, please read and complete the following information.

  • Using this form, we are asking you to verify that you understand the current regulatory status of this product not yet approved for food, feed grain, seed or processed fraction thereof in the European Union. It is a violation of national and international law to ship grain or processed products from YieldGard Plus with Roundup Ready Corn 2 to Europe, which has no tolerance and will apply a "zero threshold" to the trait.

  • You are also asked to verify that you have identified proper markets for your grain.

  • Please fill out the information requested on the Grain Marketing Communication Plan form.

  • Although YieldGard Rootworm, YieldGard Corn Borer with Roundup Ready Corn 2, YieldGard Rootworm with Roundup Ready Corn 2 and YieldGard Plus have been "grandfathered" by the E.U. for processed feed, as of 11/4/2005 these traits ARE NOT YET FULLY APPROVED FOR IMPORT BY THE E.U. Therefore, growers must still talk to their grain handler to learn more and to determine whether the development affects their ability to market the grain.

The following information is current as of September 30, 2007: YieldGard Plus, YieldGard Rootworm with Roundup Ready Corn 2 and YieldGard Corn Borer with Roundup Ready Corn 2 are grandfathered for import and use in processed feed in the E.U. YieldGard Plus with Roundup Ready Corn 2 , YieldGard VT Rootworm/RR2 and YieldGard VT Triple are neither approved nor grandfathered and there is zero tolerance for these traits in processed feed imported in the E.U. Growers of all products bearing the Market Choices mark must talk to their grain handler to confirm the handler's buying position for grain from these products. It is a violation of national and international law to move material containing biotech traits across boundaries into nations where import is not permitted.

YieldGard corn products are not yet registered in all states. Chick with your Monsanto representative for the registration status in your state.
