Agriculture can really be defined as mankind’s attempt to harness the power of nature to feed ourselves in a more efficient, predictable way. And for the last 10,000 years or so, we’ve had a lot of success in doing just that.
But nature is a complex system, and our approach to improving agriculture needs to take this complexity into account. We can’t just make better seeds. We have to find integrated ways to improve the process of agriculture, so better seeds are grown using the best available farming practices.
