Public-Private Partnerships: Paving the Way

We have learnt a lot from the diverse farming challenges and the tremendous potential for R&D in India. We believe in the power of innovation and partnerships to help farmers prodice more and improve lives.

Innovative Broad Licensing Model in cotton is testimony to our Partnering philosophy, Increased Farmer Choice and Catalyzed Growth in India’s Seed Industry.

At Monsanto, we actively work with government agencies across states to drive programmes and projects that enable farmers to get a better output from their land. As pioneers of the Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) model in agriculture, we understand that wide variances in product fits and practices across geographies call for customised solutions to agronomic challenges. Our partnerships with governments are aimed at delivering just that.

We have had and continue to have successful Public- Private Partnerships with six states (Governments of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka) to increase crop productivity and improve lives.

Monsanto has had the privilege of assisting more than nine lakh farmers in the above – mentioned states through optimum choice of inputs and agronomic practices.

The Monsanto PPP approach is holistic in nature, and provides support and information across the entire crop cycle –from seed selection and land preparation prior to sowing to building effective market linkages at harvest.

We will continue to partner with Indian farmers, industry and State and Central Governments towards the vision of Improving Agriculture to Improve Lives.
