Produce Marketing Association, PMA Australia-New Zealand is delighted to welcome Monsanto as a Gold Sponsor of PMA Fresh Connections 2012, to be held in Melbourne 26-28 June.
“We share many of the same goals” said Michael Worthington, CEO of PMA Australia-New Zealand, “uppermost is the need to drive consumer demand, as this benefits everyone in the value chain. Monsanto is doing some great work globally in the area of developing products that meet consumers’ needs for healthy, great-tasting meals and snacks. But critically, they know that these products also need to ‘stack-up’ for the growers, in terms of profitability and sustainability”.
PMA Fresh Connections is the one event in the year when all parts of the fruit, vegetable and floral industries get together, when buyers can meet sellers and where business networks are developed. This year, PMA in conjunction with the Australian Chamber, are going all-out to attract as many growers, packers, wholesalers and retailers as possible to the conference and trade show.
According to Mr. Worthington, “the retailers (large and small) have indicated that they will be there in strong numbers and we know this then means that wholesalers and producers will want to be there to meet with the buyers. We also have a packed program of networking events and conference sessions that will appeal to a wide audience. We do encourage growers especially to get along to hear from some great speakers and see what others in the industry are up to. As they say, you just have to pick up one idea or make one contact, for your business to be transformed”.
With the Australian Produce Markets again sponsoring the trade show, this year's exhibit hall will be a buzzing marketplace showing the biggest and best displays of produce and services yet exhibited at a PMA Fresh Connections. There will also be brand new Special Interest Workshops which will be held during the trade show hours, which are expected to attract even more delegates to the trade show.
Always a highlight for delegates, the PMA Fresh Connections social program will feature both old favourites and brand new networking initiatives in 2012. New this year, the Welcome Breakfast will feature 'Slammin' Sam Kekovich, who is sure to kick off the conference proceedings on a high note. Also new to 2012 are the Closing Drinks, where delegates are invited to wrap up their business dealings over a casual beverage in the trade show and enjoy the special guest speaker.
The Young Professionals Reception, an invitation only event for the next generation of industry leaders, will return for its second year along with perennial PMA Fresh Connections favourites - the Gala Dinner and the Welcome Reception.
