Nominations have opened for the 2014 Australian Cotton Industry Awards, which is now in its 11th year.
The Awards recognise excellence and high achievement in Australia’s cotton industry throughout the supply chain, from growers and ginners to product suppliers, consultants, agronomists, researchers and extension teams.
Cotton Australia CEO, Adam Kay, says the Awards annually recognise the industry’s leaders – both individuals and teams – and their contribution to Australian cotton.
“The Awards highlight more than a decade of achievement and innovation in Australia’s great cotton industry, which has made such significant advancements in farm management, water conservation and sustainability,” Mr Kay says.
“Our annual Awards program is not about who is ‘best’, it is simply a tremendous way to recognise those who have contributed enormously to our industry and to shine a light on those leading the way.”
“I encourage everyone in the industry to consider those around them who deserve recognition and nominate them for an award - it’s a fantastic way to celebrate the industry’s achievements and share the great work and commitment of people throughout the cotton supply chain.”

Mr Kay says the 2014 Cotton Industry Awards Taskforce hopes this year’s event will top last year’s.
“The annual Awards Dinner has a great reputation not only as a tribute to the Awards recipients but also as a fantastic networking and socialising event,” Mr Kay says.
“Last year’s Awards Dinner was one of the most successful ever and the event was sold out, and we’re hoping to do even better this year.”
