The largest ethanol conference in the world, The Fuel Ethanol Workshop (FEW) began 23 years ago in St. Louis with just 40 people in attendance. This year they will welcome more than 4,000 industry specialists from more than 30 countries.
Visit Monsanto at booth 603, near the main entrance to the expo hall.
The FEW is designed to provide the ethanol industry with the latest information on technology, products, services, research and new ideas for improving production, product yields, and operations of an ethanol facility.
Monsanto’s role in renewable fuels is to help farmers deliver more yield from their fields. MORE bushels per acre and MORE gallons per bushel.
Farmers have doubled their corn output - rising from 70 bushels per acre in 1970 to nearly 150 bushels per acre today. At Monsanto, we believe we can help farmers double corn yields again by 2030 through advanced breeding techniques and biotechnology.
Today, Monsanto technologies are already protecting corn plants from weeds and insects that can hurt yields. And in the next decade, we plan to introduce new biotechnology in corn to help the plant more efficiently use water and nitrogen to help increase yields. At Monsanto our focus in ethanol is increasing yields today and tomorrow.
We develop technologies to help farmers increase their productivity while decreasing their impact on the environment.
These technologies include:
