What are those big white buildings at the top of the photos? It’s the Boone DEKALB corn processing plant, located across the street from the Boone Farm Progress Show site. The Boone facility, which has been in operation since 1975, is currently under expansion. As part of an over $230 million investment in Iowa facilities, the Boone plant will be adding two new high-capacity dryers, one new green corn receiving line, more than 150,000 square feet of new warehouse space and additional bulk storage. Expected completion is late in 2009. Select DEKALB growers will have the opportunity to tour this facility and see the most innovative, state of the art processes in delivering high-quality, high-performance corn germplasm.
