Roundup Ready 2 Yield™ Press Conference

For the 2009 growing season, Monsanto is launching its second generation soybean technology – Roundup Ready 2 YieldTM. Four years of field comparisons have demonstrated that Roundup Ready 2 Yield soybeans deliver a yield advantage of 7 percent to 11 percent over the first-generation Roundup Ready Soybeans. Specific product introduction plans will be outlined at the press conference.

David Nothmann, Roundup Ready 2 Yield Product Launch Lead, will discuss 2007 field trials, the advanced gene mapping technology responsible for the brand’s top-end yield potential and specifics for the 2009 launch.

David Sasse of Lincoln, IL, and Alan Karkosh of Hudson, Iowa, both Roundup Ready 2 Yield production growers in 2007, will also attend the press conference to talk about their experience.

Monsanto Mobile Technology Unit to Visit Commodity Classic in
Nashville, TN, Feb. 28-March 1

Monsanto invites media to tour its new Mobile Technology Unit (MTU), a unique showcase of agricultural science and innovation, when it appears at the Commodity Classic show in Nashville, TN at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, Booth 272, Thursday-Saturday, February 28-March 1, 2008. The MTU will host tours open to all Commodity Classic Show attendees.

Special MTU tour times for media: The MTU will be giving a pre-show tour for media at 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28th. For media unable to take a tour at these times, we can make arrangements to accommodate you at other times during the show.

The Mobile Technology Unit is a 53-foot long, 1,000 square-foot interactive display featuring Monsanto's latest advances in seed breeding, biotechnology and new product development designed to help farmers be successful.
