RRC Policy

SCOPE

This policy applies to all former Monsanto U.S. employees.

PURPOSE

The RRC is the only authorized route to bring back former Monsanto employees on a temporary basis. The program is intended to be a resource for staffing temporary positions at Monsanto.

POLICY

The RRC serves as a portal for former Monsanto employees who wish to work at Monsanto in a temporary or part-time capacity. Only former Monsanto employees can be assigned through the RRC

Eligibility

To be eligible for this program, all returning former employees must not have worked for Monsanto as a consultant during the calendar year. Monsanto will no longer engage the services of former employees through agencies, regardless of that person’s work history with an agency

Additionally, starting July 1, 2007, employees who terminate and receive a distribution from either SIP or Pension cannot be rehired through the RRC for at least six months following their termination date. However, former employees who do not receive a distribution from SIP or Pension can generally be rehired through the RRC at any time. This required six-month separation does not apply to former Monsanto employees who separated from Pharmacia, Pfizer or Solutia.

Pay

Employees working through the RRC will be paid according to the range established for the assignments on which they are working. Exceptions should be reviewed with Rewards and have the proper DOA.

RRC employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis for actual hours worked, including overtime, as properly documented. Managers should not approve time that was not worked. RRC employees are not eligible for holiday pay, sick pay or compensatory time.

Although Monsanto does not impose a dollar limit on earnings through the RRC, retirees should be aware of the effect total earnings (from Monsanto and elsewhere) have on any Social Security benefits received.

Hours Worked

There is no limit on the number of hours RRC employees under age 65 may work during a calendar year; however, employees who have a vested benefit under the Pension Plan and who are in pay status will have their payments suspended if they exceed 999 hours.

Exceptions

If a company is retained to do a project for Monsanto and that company sends one of its employees, who is a former Monsanto employee to do the work, that employee is not required to come through the RRC. The former Monsanto employee will take directions from the company hired to do the project and not a Monsanto manager.
