The American farmer. The American hero. The men and women who work the land, raise the animals and make day-to-day life possible for the rest of us. They have great stories to tell.
America’s Heartland has been telling their stories for four seasons – and has now embarked on its fifth.
America’s Heartland is the only nationally broadcast weekly program on agriculture. Since its start in 2005, the show has shared more than 400 stories spanning all 50 states about U.S. farmers, ranchers, their way of life and the products they produce for the world. In addition, this year America’s Heartland is introducing new features:
Off the Shelf gives viewers information about the food they buy every week.
Harvesting Knowledge takes a look at the historical background of our favorite foods.
Working the Land allows urban viewers to visit America’s farm fields and look at the specialized and sometimes dirty jobs of people working in agriculture.
Are you a farmer? Check out what your fellow farmers and ranchers across the country are doing.
Are you a city-dweller? Find out exactly how America’s farmers and ranchers provide the food, clothing and other items you rely on every day. And learn how hard these men and women work for you.
